Bwindi Plus Nursery & Primary School was set up in 2015 by a local man Moses Agaba, one of the housekeeping team at Mahogany Springs Lodge in Buhoma, Bwindi. Moses was an orphan adopted and raised by the community and he wanted to give something back to them and set about convincing local parents to share their land for a school to be built.
Moses raised funds himself to build the school whilst continuing work at the lodge and two years later over 200 local children were able to receive the best quality education without the need to travel long distances on dangerous roads.
The school offers boarding for those who need it and donors from around the globe have visited the project and visitors are always welcome and the school encourages tourists to interact with the pupils and teachers and gain an insight into the daily life of the school. The children love to sing and dance.
Donations and gifts are very gratefully received, please contact us for further details if you wish to contribute in any way or visit the school and meet the children and teachers.
